We have started our 'Big Bike Giveaway.' Thanks to some external funding we have begun to collaborate with various Stockport based community groups to enable their users access to bikes that they would otherwise not be able to afford .The aims of this scheme are to:

support people accessing employment/ education opportunities

help ease transport costs
-
boost physical and mental health
The first recipient in October was a client of Pure Innovations. Two more bikes are being prepared for them now. Meanwhile, throughout September the RMIS fettlers were busy repairing and servicing seven bikes for the young pupils at Lisburne school. We'll be donating these at the end of October once they have moved into their new school building. The bikes have all been fitted with stabilisers to ensure as many children as possible, regardless of their mobility needs, can access cycling.

Stockport Homes hosted their annual 'Star Awards' on 23rd October at The Masonic Guildhall. As nominees, we were invited to attend.
It was a great night with a buffet and entertainment. Three of our members went along and were thrilled to be called up to the stage to accept the award, on behalf of everyone at RMiS, for 'Community Group of the Year'.
We were up against stiff competition from across Stockport so it really means a lot to us to be acknowledged in this way. Thank you to those who nominated us!
